Welcome to the weekend, folks!
I’m sorry for not responding to comments and posting as frequently. I have reasons for all of that and that includes moving! That’s right, I’LL BE MOVING AT THE END OF THE MONTH!
My husband and I decided to make the trek from New York to Los Angeles and we’ll be residing there soon. I cannot wait!
However, this means there will be a slight slowdown on the blog. I know you all love coming here and reading what’s up in my bookish world, so I’ll try to update as much as I can. For now, it’ll be a little bit slower until we’ve moved to our new place (and set up Internet).
For now, let’s take a look at what I’ll be reading this weekend!
Uprooted by Naomi Novik
I was reading this a couple of weeks ago and decided to DNF the book. However, there was something about this book that really drew me into it at first and I decided to pick it up again. Usually when I put down a book halfway through, it languishes on my shelf forever. I end up picking the book back up in a year or two thinking maybe I should donate the book.
But it makes me feel bad that a book that I thought I would enjoy is now going to be donated, so I don’t want to make that same mistake. I’m going to definitely pick up this book again and make some serious progress.
Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave
I borrowed this from the library because a friend on bookstagram was reading it and mentioned how she didn’t like it. Whenever I hear someone not like a book, it makes me more intrigued and more interested in trying it out. There are some super controversial books out there that I’ve heard time and time again NOT TO SUPPORT. There’s either some racism or obvious sexism that makes readers immediately bash the book.
Me? I’m the type that has to see it to believe it. I’m the type that has to read the book myself to hate the book. I mean, that’s what happened with me and Fifty Shades of Grey.
So I’m checking this one out this weekend and perhaps even squeezing in Laura Dave’s other book Hello, Sunshine.
Have a great weekend. I am hoping to read The Coven Princess by Lily Luchesi

I couldn’t find Hello, Sunshine! I know I have a copy of the book but everything is in boxes right now. I tried to dig around for it but it’s somewhere. Haha I guess I’ll read it when I get to California.
